Salah Kaprah Memaknai “Bau Bulut Orang Berpuasa Lebih Wangi Dari Misik Menurut Allah”


Seringkali kita merasa bahwa bau mulut kita agak lebih tidak bersahabat ketika berpuasa. Tentunya kita akan sedikit kurang percaya diri ketika bergaul dengan masyarakat ketika sedang berpuasa.
Pada masa Rasulullah SAW hidup, hal ini menjadi perhatian tersendiri bagi Rasul sehingga Rasulullah pun bersabda kepada para sahabatnya dalam hadits yang diriwayatkan oleh Imam Bukhari dalam Sahih-nya:
وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوْفُ فَمِّ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ تَعَالَى مِنْ رِيْحِ الْمِسْكِ
“Demi Zat yang berkuasa atas nyawaku, sungguhbau mulut orang puasa itu lebih wangi menurut Allah daripada bau misik.”
Dari hadits ini, ada beberapa orang yang salah kaprah memaknainya. Karena disebutkan bahwa bau mulut orang berpuasa lebih wangi daripada bau minyak misik, maka orang mengira bahwa yang menjadi patokan adalah bau mulutnya.
Sehingga orang tersebut merasa tak perlu membersihkan mulutnya ketika berpuasa. Mereka menganggap semakin berbau mulut, maka akan semakin wangi seperti misik menurut Allah SWT.
Ada beberapa hal yang perlu kita diperhatikan ketika membaca hadits ini. Membaca hadits ini tidak bisa secara tekstual.
Memaknai hadits ini harus berdasarkan makna majaz (bukan arti yang sebenarnya).
Sebagaimana dikemukakan oleh Kiai Ali Mustafa Yaqub dalam karyanya yang berjudul At-Thuruqus Shahihah fi Fahmi Sunnatin Nabawiyyah bahwa ada beberapa hadits yang harus dipahami secara majaz. Salah satunya adalah hadits ini.
Berikut beberapa hal yang diharus diperhatikan ketika membaca hadits ini.
Pertama, bahwa yang dimaksud wangi menurut Allah bukan berarti wangi berdasarkan penciuman Allah. Karena mencium merupakan suatu hal yang mustahil bagi Allah SWT. Karena jika Allah mencium atau melakukan pengindraan yang lain, maka secara otomatis menyamakan Allah dengan makhluk-Nya. Padahal Allah tidak seperti makhluk-Nya, Laisa kamitslihi syai’un.
Maka yang dimaksud athyabu indallah min rihil misk adalah pahalanya lebih banyak menurut Allah daripada pahala orang yang memakai minyak misik pada shalat Jumat atau shalat Idul Fitri dan Idul Adha.
Hal ini juga disebutkan oleh Al-Bujairimi dalam Tuhfatul Habib ala Syarhil Khatib terkait makna hadits ini.
قَوْلُهُ: (أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ) أَيْ أَطْيَبُ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ الْمَطْلُوبِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْعِيدَيْنِ أَيْ أَكْثَرُ ثَوَابًا مِنْ ثَوَابِ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ الْمَطْلُوبِ، فَلَا يَرِدُ أَنَّ الشَّمَّ مُسْتَحِيلٌ عَلَيْهِ تَعَالَى، أَوْ مَعْنَى كَوْنِهِ أَطْيَبَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ثَنَاؤُهُ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ وَرِضَاهُ بِهِ
“Yang dimaksud dalam qaul ‘lebih wangi menurut Allah’ adalah lebih wangi daripada bau minyak misik yang diperintahkan untuk memakainya ketika hari Jumat dan dua shalat Id, atau maksudnya adalah pahalanya lebih banyak daripada pahala menggunakan minyak misik pada hari Jumat atau dua hari raya. Sungguh, mencium adalah hal yang mustahil bagi Allah SWT sehingga yang dimaksud dengan ‘lebih wangi menurut Allah’ adalah pujian dan ridha-Nya terhadap orang yang berpuasa.”
Pendapat Al-Bujairimi ini juga diafirmasi sebelumnya oleh Imam Nawawi yang mengutip pendapat Ad-Dawudi dalam kitab Al-Minhaj Syarah Sahih Muslim-nya.
Kedua, pendapat lain mengatakan bahwa keadaan wangi atas bau mulut orang berpuasa tersebut terjadi di akhirat karena saat itu adalah hari pembalasan.
Al-Qadhi Iyadh mengatakan bahwa di akhirat kelak Allah SWT akan membalas orang yang berpuasa dengan bau wangi di mulutnya yang mengalahkan wanginya minyak misik.
Oleh karena itu ulama mengatakan bahwa balasan wangi bau mulut untuk orang berpuasa berlaku di akhirat.
Berdasarkan beberapa pendapat ini, maka selayaknya orang yang berpuasa untuk tetap menjaga kebersihan aroma mulut.
Bukan malah membiarkannya dan malas membersihkannya dengan dalih hadits ini karena bagaimanapun juga bau mulut akan mengganggu orang yang ada di sekitar kita.
Hadits ini adalah sebuah bentuk motivasi bagi orang yang berpuasa agar tetap menjalankan ibadah puasanya walaupun ada sesuatu yang tidak mengenakkan pada mulutnya.
Tetapi ia harus tetap memperhatikan kebersihan dengan membersihkan mulutnya sebelum mulai berpuasa.
Adapun perubahan mulut yang terjadi merupakan sifat alamiah manusia karena mulut tidak dimasuki makanan. Bukan bau mulut yang disengaja berubah karena malas atau tidak mau menyikat gigi.
