Sudah Tahukah Anda Arti Alif Lam Mim dalam Al-Qur’an? Ini Artinya


Pertanyaan:Fadhilatusy Syaikh, saya masih bingung dengan penjelasan yang Anda sampaikan bahwa tidak ada satupun ayat dalam al-Qur’an yang tidak diketahui maknanya seorangpun ulama atau semua manusia sepakat tidak ada yang mengetahuinya.
Berkaitan dengan hal ini apa yang harus kami katakan tentang huruf muqatha’ah: alif lam mim, ya siin dan huruf lainnya, yang diperseslisihkan ulama tentang maknanya?
Jawaban:Kami jawab tentang huruf muqatha’ah sejatinya tidak ada aneh sama sekali. Karena Allah Ta’ala berfirman,
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُبِين
“(Al-Qur’an itu diturunkan) dengan bahasa arab yang jelas.” (QS. Asyu’ara: 195)
Dan kita tahu bahwa huruf-huruf ini, selama tidak dirangkai dalam satu kata, dia tidak memiliki makna. Qaftidak memiliki makna, shad tidak memiliki makna, nun tidak memiliki makna, alif lam mim juga tidak memiliki makna. Ini semua, berdasarkan tata bahasa Arab, tidak memiliki makna.
Jika ada orang Arab mengatakan kepada anda, ‘Qaf’ dan yang ia maksudkan adalah huruf hijaiyah. Apakah huruf ini memiliki makna? Tentu tidak.
Ketika Allah Ta’ala menegaskan kepada kita bahwasanya Al Qur’an diturunkan dengan bahasa Arab yang jelas, kita bisa memahami bahwa huruf muqatha’ah itu tidak memiliki makna.
Setelah kita memahami ini, ada satu masalah yang lain, bagaimana mungkin di dalam Al-Qur’an terdapat ayat yang tidak memiliki makna padahal Al Qur’an itu adalah kebenaran?
Kita JawabBenar huruf muqatha’ah tidak memiliki makna secara teksnya, akan tetapi dia memiliki makna dari sisi tujuan dan substansinya. Tatkala Allah Ta’ala berfirman, qaf, nun, shad dan huruf muqatha’ah lainnya seakan-akan Allah mengatakan,
“Kitab yang agung ini, yang diturunkan kepada kalian wahai orang Arab, tidak lah datang dengan huruf-huruf yang baru. Akan tetapi huruf-huruf yang terdapat dalam Al-Qur’an adalah huruf-huruf yang kalian gunakan untuk menyusun bahasa kalian sendiri, meskipun demiikian, kalian tidak mampu membuat tiruannya.”
Oleh karena itulah Syaikhul Islam Ibnu Taimiyyah mengatakan, “Tidak ada satupun surat yang diawali dengan huruf muqatha’ah kecuali ayat setelahnya disebutkan tentang Al-Qur’an atau perkara ghaib yang tidak diketahui kecuali dengan wahyu.
Apakah kalian faham dengan kaidah ini? Mari kita sebutkan mulai dari yang pertama:
Dalam Surat al-Baqarah
الم . ذَلِكَ الْكِتَاب
“Alif lam mim. Kitab (Al Quran) ini “ (QS. Al Baqarah: 1-2)
Dalam Surat Ali Imran
الم . اللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
“Alif lam mim. Allah, tidak ada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) melainkan Dia. Yang hidup kekal lagi terus menerus mengurus makhluk-Nya.” (QS. Ali Imran 1-2)
Dalam Surat al-A’raf
المص . كِتَابٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ
“Alif lam mim shad. Ini adalah sebuah kitab yang diturunkan kepadamu.” (QS. Al A’raf: 1-2)
Dalam Surat Yunus
الر . تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْحَكِيمِ
“Alif lam ra. Inilah ayat-ayat Al Quran yang mengandung hikmah.” (QS. Yunus:1-2)
Dalam Surat Hud
الر . كِتَابٌ أُحْكِمَتْ آيَاتُهُ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِنْ لَدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
“Alif lam raa. (inilah) suatu kitab yang ayat-ayatnya disusun dengan rapi serta dijelaskan secara terperinci, yang diturunkan dari sisi (Allah) Yang Maha Bijaksana lagi Maha Tahu.” (QS. Hud: 1-2)
Dalam Surat Yusuf
الر . تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ
“Alif, laam, raa. Ini adalah ayat-ayat Kitab (Al Quran) yang nyata (dari Allah).” (QS. Yusuf 1-2)
Dalam Surat Ibrahim
الر . كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنْ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
” Alif, laam raa. (Ini adalah) Kitab yang Kami turunkan kepadamu supaya kamu mengeluarkan manusia dari gelap gulita kepada cahaya terang benderang.” (QS. Ibrahim :1-2)
Dalam Surat ar-Rum
الم . غُلِبَتْ الرُّومُ . فِي أَدْنَى الأَرْضِ
“Alif laam miim. Telah dikalahkan bangsa Rumawi, di negeri yang terdekat.” (QS. Ar Rum : 1-3)
Akan tetapi setelah ayat ini disebutkan perkara ghaib (kejadian yang akan datang-pen) yaitu,
وَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ
“Dan mereka sesudah dikalahkan itu akan menang.” (QS. Ar Rum: 3)
Ilmu ghaib tidaklah diketahui kecuali dengan turunnya wahyu.
Dalam Surat al-Ankabut
الم . أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لا يُفْتَنُونَ
“Alif lam mim. Apakah manusia itu mengira bahwa mereka dibiarkan (saja) mengatakan: “Kami telah beriman”, sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi?.” (QS. Al Ankabut 1-2)
Setelah huruf muqatha’ah dalam surat ini memang tidak disebutkan tentang Al Qur’an akan tetapi disebutkan tentang siapakah sajakah yang membawa keimanan (dan ini terkait keimanan kepada wahyu)
أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لا يُفْتَنُونَ . وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ
“Apakah manusia itu mengira bahwa mereka dibiarkan (saja) mengatakan: “Kami telah beriman”, sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi? Dan sesungguhnya kami telah menguji orang-orang yang sebelum mereka.” (QS. Al Ankabut 2-3)
Kesimpulannyahuruf-huruf muqatha’ah secara teksnya tidaklah memiliki makna, akan tetapi memiliki substansi, tujuan dan hikmah yang agung. Yaitu Al Qur’an ini yang datang kepada kalian wahai orang Arab datang dengan apa?
Datang dengan huruf-huruf baru yang tidak kalian ketahui ataukah dengan huruf-huruf yang kalian gunakan untuk menyusun bahasa kalian sendiri? Jawabannya yang pertama atau kedua? yang kedua. Dan ini sangat jelas.
