إنّي لأعجب ممن قرأ القرآن و لم يعلم تأويله كيف يتلذ بقرائته
“Aku heran dengan orang yang membaca al-qur’an tapi tidak tahu tafsirnya, bagaimana bisa berlezat-lezat dengan membaca Al-qur’an tersebut?”
Buktinya, seseorang yang membaca Surat Al-Fatihah tanpa membaca artinya akan berbeda dengan seseorang yang membaca Al-Fatihah tapi tahu artinya.
Dia akan menemukan kelezatan dan kekhusyu’an yang berbeda dengan yang tidak paham terjemahan ayat tersebut.
Dan berbeda bagi orang yang sudah membaca Tafsir Ibnu Katsir Surat Al-faatihah, dia akan lebih khusyu’ daripada orang yang sekedar membaca terjemahannya.
Dan berbeda lagi untuk orang yang membaca tafsir yang mendalam karena tafsir ada yang panjang (muthowwal) ada pula yang ringkas.
Barangsiapa semakin memperdalam tafsiran ayat-ayat tersebut maka ia akan semakin khusyu’ dalam shalatnya.
Sampai-sampai diantara ilmu yang disesalkan oleh Syaikhul Islam Ibnu Taimiyyah rahimahullah ta’aala sebagaimana disebutkan oleh Ibn Rojab al hanbali diakhir hayat beliau:
و ندمت علي تبذير أوقاتي في غير معلم القرآن
“Saya menyesal bahwasanya waktu-waktuku yang habis tidak digunakan untuk mempelajari alqur’an..”
Padahal kita tahu bahwa beliau pakar hadits, beliau menulis buku tentang hadits, aqidah dan buku lain yang banyak sekali.
Namun diakhir hayatnya beliau ketika di penjara beliau lebih banyak membaca alqur’an. Tatkala beliau membaca alqur’an maka Allah membukakan bagi beliau makna-makna yang indah dari AlQur’an tersebut.
Tatkala itu beliau mengungkapkan penyesalannya kenapa dahulu tidak menyibukkan diri memperdalam makna makna alqur’an padahal beliau juga mempunya tafsiran-tafsiran yang sangat banyak.
