Tujuan dari ibadah adalah agar manusia menjadi bertakwa, taat kepada Allah dan Rasulnya, karena  hal itu sebagai modal menuju keberuntungan di dunia dan akhirat.
Pertanyaannya adalah, apakah kita termasuk ke dalam kriteria orang yang bertakwa? Di bawah ini akan dijelaskan tentang kriteria orang yang bertakwa dengan merujuk Surat Ali Imran 133-136  yang berati:
“Dan bersegeralah kamu mencari ampunan dari Tuhanmu dan untuk mendapatkan surga yang luasnya seluas langit dan bumi, yang disediakan bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa (133).
Yaitu orang-orang yang berinfak, baik di waktu lapang maupun sempit, dan orang-orang yang menahan amarahnya dan mema’afkan (kesalahan) orang lain. Allah menyukai orang-orang yang berbuat kebaikan (134).
Dan (juga) orang-orang yang apabila mengerjakan perbuatan keji atau mendzalimi diri sendiri, ia segera mengingat Allah, lalu memohon ampunan atas dosa-dosanya, dan siapa lagi yang dapat mengampuni dosa-dosanya selain Allah? Mereka pun tidak meneruskan perbuatan dosa itu, sedang mereka mengetahui (135).
Balasan bagi mereka ialah ampunan dari Tuhan mereka dan surga-surga yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai, mereka kekal di dalamnya. Itulah sebaik-baik pahala bagi orang-orang yang beramal (136).”
Imam Ar-Razi dalam Tafsirnya menjelaskan kriteria orang yang bertakwa yang akan mendapatkan ampunan dari Allah, dan akan masuk Surga-Nya, yaitu:
Pertama, orang yang mau menginfakkan sebagian hartanya untuk orang yang membutuhkan atau kepentingan umum, dalam kondisi susah maupun mudah, terjepit maupun sedang berduit, dalam keadaan miskin atau sedang mempunyai mobil selusin.
Imam Ibnu Kasir dalam Tafsirnya menjelaskan tentang infak secara lebih luas, dengan berbuat baik kepada kerabat, maupun orang lain dengan berbagai jenis kebaikan.
Kedua, orang yang mampu meredam kemarahannya, terutama ketika menghadapi kegagalan dalam usaha, atau sedang mendapatkan ujian kehidupan.
Bahkan dalam menghadapi perbedaan pikiran, pendapat, pilihan, atau yang lain, ia  lebih meredam marahnya agar tak dikuasai amarah, karena orang yang dikuasai amarah hidupnya tak akan terarah.
Ketiga, orang yang mau memaafkan orang lain bila berbuat salah, tanpa diminta terlebih dahulu. Karena ia sadar manusia tak ada yang sempurna, pasti mempunyai kesalahan, serta pelupa, maka dirinya sadar betul untuk memaklumi dan memaafkan orang lain yang berbuat salah padanya.
Keempat, orang yang ketika berbuat salah, ia langsung beristighfar, meminta ampun kepada Allah atas kesalahan yang telah dilakukan, karena orang yang bertaubat, dosanya akan diampuni, dan seperti bayi yang tak mempunyai dosa.
Empat kriteria di atas adalah orang yang akan mendapatkan kenikmatan yang abadi, tak akan ditelan waktu,  semoga kita mampu mengamalkan ayat diatas, dan menjadi orang yang dekat dengan Allah.
