Masih Ingat dengan Raeni si Anak Tukang Becak yang Jadi Wisudawati Terbaik? Ada Kabar Baik Datang darinya

Masih ingat dengan Raeni (25) yang pada 2014 lalu dinobatkan sebagai wisudawati terbaik di Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes)?

Ada kabar baik datang darinya. Ia kini sedang mempersiapkan keberangkatannya untuk menempuh pendidikan S3 di University of Birmingham, Inggris.

Nama Raeni menjadi viral setelah dirinya diantar ayahnya, Mugiono, menggunakan becaknya saat wisuda di Unnes.

“Alhamdulilah tanggal 19 Januari kemarin baru pengumuman saya mendapatkan beasiswa LPDP, dan bila tidak ada halangan akan berangkat ke Birmingham pada September tahun ini,” ujar Raeni.

Sebelum ini, Raeni juga mendapatkan beasiswa S2 di University of Birmingham dan lulus pada Desember 2016 lalu. Sekolah setinggi mungkin bagi Raeni adalah bekal menghadapi tantangan di masa depan.

Seperti halnya investasi, terdapat bekal yang harus ditanamkan untuk menghasilkan something in return yang optimal.

Apalagi, sejak 1 Januari 2017 Raeni tercatat sebagai dosen di jurusan pendidikan Ekonomi konsentrasi Pendidikan Akuntansi Unnes Semarang.

Raeni menyadari, bekal riset sangat ia butuhkan, untuk mewujudkannya salah satunya melalui studi S3 tersebut.

Dalam proses pencarian kampus, pada awalnya Raeni mendaftar di beberapa kampus di beberapa negara.

Akan tetapi, setelah konsultasi, diskusi dan mendapatkan beberapa saran, akhirnya ia menyelesaikan aplikasi pendaftaran di University of Birmingham, tempatnya studi S2.

Kalau ditanya apakah mendapatkan professor yang sama saat menyelesaikan tesisnya selama S2, jawabannya adalah tidak. Karena saat S2, Professor Raeni berasal dari kampus lain.

Oleh karena itu, Raeni harus melewati proses wawancara dengan calon professor dan program director S3 hingga akhirnya mendapatkan Unconditional Offer Letter.
Perjalanannya mencari beasiswa juga tidak mulus.

“Awalnya saya dinominasikan dalam shortlist beasiswa dari kampus, namun untuk Internasional Student tidak mengcover semua biaya. Jadi saya menyampaikan ke kampus bahwa saya tidak bisa menerima hanya partically funded,” ujarnya.

Selanjutnya ia mencoba mendaftar Beasiswa Unggulan Dikti dan LPDP, yaitu beasiswa untuk dosen.

Namun Raeni terkendala belum mempunyai Nomor Induk Dosen Nasional (NIDN). Raeni saat itu masih mempunyai Nomor Induk Dosen Khusus (NIDK) yang membuatnya tidak bisa mendaftar.

“Lalu saya mendaftar beasiswa lanjutan LPDP, awalnya belum diterima karena ada salah satu persyarakat yang belum memenuhi. Alhamdulillah, saya mendapatkan kesempatan untuk mendaftar lagi pada periode berikutnya dan lolos untuk direkomendasikan sebagai penerima beasiswa lanjutan dari magister ke doktoral LPDP,” papar Raeni.

Dalam persiapan menyambut keberangkatannya ke Inggris September nanti, Raeni banyak membaca jurnal-jurnal yang berhubungan dengan bidang studinya.

Namun dia juga tidak melupakan quality time bersama keluarganya.  Pada pertengahan Februari lalu, Raeni pergi umrah bersama kedua orang tuanya.

Bapaknya kini tidak lagi menarik becak, melainkan menjadi penjaga malam dan mengantar jemput salah satu putri mantan Bupati Kendal berangkat ke sekolah.

Raeni sangat bersyukur sebab melalui pendidikan dan pekerjaan dia bisa mengangkat derajat keluarganya.

Bahkan, dia masih ingat kalau dulu suka makan kecap dan kerupuk atau kecap dengan tempe, sesekali dengan telor.

Untuk makan daging, Raeni dan keluarganya biasanya menunggu saat lebaran. Tetapi, rasa syukur menjadikan setiap tahapan dalam kehidupan adalah nikmat yang tidak terhingga.

“Tentu untuk mencapai kesejahteraan secara ideal, kami masih dalam proses, karena saya baru 1 tahun bekerja dan saya sangat bersyukur mendapatkan pekerjaan yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan tidak hanya secara material tetapi juga kebutuhan sosial,” ungkap Raeni.

Tak lupa Raeni berpesan pada generasi muda untuk tetap semangat mengejar mimpinya. Tetap belajar, sebab belajar bisa dilakukan di mana pun dan kapan pun.

Secara pribadi Raeni jarang mentarget waktu belajar. Tetapi yang dia targetkan adalah aktivitas utama bisa dipenuhi atau tidak.

Aktivitas tersebut meliputi waktu untuk menyelesaikan tugas, berdiskusi, berkumpul dengan keluarga dan aktivitas sosial.
