Tak sedikit kisah mengejutkan yang terjadi saat seseorang melaksanakan ibadah haji maupun umrah. Meski kisahnya seakan tak masuk akal, namun bisa menjadi pelajaran bagi yang lain.

Kisah ini menceritakan tentang seorang Kyai ternama di Jawa, sebut saja Mansur (bukan nama sebenarnya).
Mansur melaksanakan ibadah umrah pada tahun 1992 silam. Kala itu usianya masih 30 tahun, tak jauh berbeda dengan mutawif yang mendampinginya.
Dalam cuaca dingin bulan Desember, Jamaah dari travel umroh ternama ini memiliki kesempatan beribadah di Tanah Suci selama sembilan hari.
Suatu ketika, sang mutawif yang sudah lama menetap di Makkah itu merasa keheranan dengan gelagat Kyai Mansur ketika memasuki kawasan Masjidil Haram.
Bagaimana tidak, ketika kakinya menyentuh lantai, Mansur dengan cepat langsung mengangkatnya. Ia seakan berjalan di atas duri.
Sesekali, Mansur juga akan berhenti dan menggosok telapak kakinya. Sang mutawif menyangka, kaki Kyai Mansur tengah sakit sehingga tak nyaman digunakan berjalan.
Namun, saat tiba di hadapan Ka’bah, perilaku Mansur semakin aneh. Dia tiba-tiba membuka kain ihram yang dikenakannya. Kain tersebut langsung ia letakkan di lantai.
Kemudian, ia melangkahkan kaki di atas kain ihram. Orang lain pasti menyangka bahwa apa yang dilakukan Mansur sangat aneh dan seperti anak kecil yang sibuk bermain.
Menurut sang mutawif, cuaca hari itu sejuk. Lantainya pun terasa nyaman untuk berjalan, dinginnya pun tak terlalu terasa.
Keanehan kembali terjadi saat melakukan tawaf. Mansur tiba-tiba berlari dengan cepat. Setelah beberapa meter, ia berhenti kemudian melemparkan kain ihram ke lantai dan menginjak-injaknya. Dia juga sempat mengusap telapak kakinya.
Karena penasaran, sang mutawif pun memberanikan diri untuk bertanya langsung pada Mansur. Sebagai seorang yang bertanggung jawab, dia tentu berkewajiban mengetahui kondisi jamaah yang dipandunya.
Tak disangka, pengakuan Mansur sangatlah mengejutkan. Sebab, dia ataupun jamaah lain tak ada yang merasakan apa yang dirasakan Mansur.
“Saat telapak kakiku aku merasa seperti berjalan di atas bara api. Ini menyakitkan, panas, sakit! Itu benar. Demi Allah, saya tidak tahan dengan lantai Masjidil Haram. Saya membuka kain ihram untuk alas kaki. Panasnya seperti api di bawah lantai. Rasanya terbakar habis!” ujarnya.
Karena merasa aneh dengan apa yang dirasakan Kyai Mansur, mutawif yang saat ini menjadi mahasiswa S3 di Mekkah ini pun menanyakan apa yang sehari-hari dilakukan Sang Kyai sebelum berangkat ke Tanah Suci.
Ternyata, Mansur adalah seorang Kyai yang hobi meminta bantuan atas nama agama demi kepentingan pribadinya.
Ia sering memakan uang dari para dermawan untuk pembangunan pondok pesantren yang diasuhnya. Hobi ini telah menjadi kebiasaannya meski hanya sedikit uang dari para darmawan yang ia makan.
Namun, setelah mengalami peristiwa aneh di Masjidil Haram, Sang Kyai mengaku bertaubat dan akan meninggalkan kebiasaan buruk tersebut.
