Direktur Informasi dan Komunikasi Badan Intelijen Negara Wawan Purwanto mengatakan, dengan kecanggihan teknologi, tidak sulit mengungkap tuntas aktor di belakang eksistensi kelompok Muslim Cyber Army (MCA).
Maka, tak mustahil juga terungkap pihak penyokong dana pada kelompok tersebut.
Dari konten ujaran kebencian atau hoaks yang diunggah di media sosial, bisa dicari siapa pihak yang pertama kali mengunggahnya.
"Itu tinggal dirunut. Siapa pendananya juga tidak sulit ketahuan dari sana," ujar Wawan di Jakarta, Rabu (14/3/2018).

Jika sudah ketemu siapa pihak yang mendanai, kata Wawan, maka tidak sulit mencari aktor di balik MCA.

Oleh karena itu, ia meminta semua pihak untuk berhati-hati dalam membuat atau mengunggah konten di media sosial.
Meski dengan akun anonim, pelakunya pasti bisa ketahuan.
"Diharapkan semua pihak berhati-hati menyikapi ini semua, untuk juga menyampaikan sesuatu basic-nya adalah kebenaran," kata Wawan.
Wawan mengatakan, akan lebih baik pada tahun politik ini warganet menyebarkan konten yang mengedukasi.

Masyarakat harus mengedepankan rasa saling percaya.
Jika rasa saling percaya tidak ada, maka makna pemilu akan bias.
Masyarakat menjadi apatis dengan pesta demokrasi.

"Mereka menganggap ini sebagai sebuah permainan belaka. Dampaknya partisipasi publik jadi sedikit. Kalau minimum, ini akan dimanfaatkan oleh orang-orang yang tidak bertanggungjawab juga," kata Wawan.
Sementara itu, Polri masih mendalami keterkaitan MCA dengan kelompok politik tertentu.
Namun, Kepala Biro Penerangan Masyarakat Divisi Humas Polri Brigjen Pol Mohammad Iqbal memastikan bahwa kelompok MCA memiliki motif politis.
"Kami belum mendapatkan itu (afiliasi politik). Tapi kami tidak berhenti sampai di sini," kata Iqbal
