Veteran Usia 100 Tahun Ini Cuma Ingat Nama ‘Mbah Hasyim’


Tidak banyak yang diingat Tondo, ketika diminta menceritakan perjalanannya menjadi seorang pejuang puluhan tahun lalu.
Yang diingat hanya Mbah Hasyim Tebuireng (Kyai Hasyim Asy’ari), sebagai salah satu tokoh pemimpin perang.
Veteran yang konon berusia lebih dari 100 tahun asal Kecamatan Tikung, Kabupaten Lamongan itu, menyebut, tokoh pendiri ormas Nahdatul Ulama itu adalah tokoh agama asal Pesantren Tebu Ireng Jombang yang memimpin kelompok santri dan warga sipil.
“Menang atau kalahnya perang apa kata Kyai Hasyim,” kata dia yang didampingi Sutrisno, salah satu putranya, Selasa (16/8/2016) malam.
Tondo tidak ingat lagi siapa pimpinan perangnya saat itu. Dia hanya ingat bahwa dia ikut bergerilya dari Madiun ke Surabaya.
“Senjatanya pakai pasir batu, dan bambu runcing,” kata Tondo.
Meski sudah sepuh, Tondo masih terlihat sehat. Hanya saja saat berkata-kata terdengar kurang jelas, karena semua giginya sudah tanggal.
Tondo tercatat pernah menerima penghargaan Bintang Gerilya dari Kodam V Brawijaya pada 1983.
Sutrisno adalah satu dari 11 putra Tondo dari lima isterinya.
Kata Sutrisno, ayahnya itu selalu bersemangat saat melihat banyak bendera merah putih yang selalu dipasang saat perayaan HUT kemerdekaan.
“Bapak saya selalu tidak bisa tidur dan banyak bercerita soal perang,” jelasnya.
Kemarin, Tondo dan 60 veteran lainnya di Jawa Timur mendapat layanan bedah rumah dari Kodam V Brawijaya bekerjasama dengan sejumlah BUMN.
Menurut Pangdam V Brawijaya, Mayjen I Made Sukadana, yang diberikan untuk para veteran sebenarnya belum sepadan dengan apa yang mereka telah lakukan untuk bangsa.
“Tapi bedah rumah veteran adalah salah satu aksi nyata kami sebagai bentuk perhatian kepada para veteran,” ungkap dia.
