Sejarah Lengkap Berdirinya Masjid Nabawi


Masjid Nabawi adalah masjid kedua yang dibangun Nabi, masjid pertama dibangun Nabi saw adalah Masjid Quba yang terletak antara Makkah dan Madinah.
Masjid Quba dibangun ketika Nabi saw menunggu Ali bin Abi Thalib yang hijrah belakangan. Lokasi Masjid Nabawi yang asli ditandai dengan tiang-tiang yang berbeda dengan tiang-tiang sebagian besar Masjid Nabawi saat ini, umumnya tiang-tiang masjid Nabawi terkesan antik, berbeda dan ber- arsitektur modern.
Luas Masjid Nabawi dan halamannya saat ini lebih kurang 8,2 HA dan mampu menampung sekitar 2.000.000 jamaah, total luas masjid saat ini diyakini merupakan luas kota Madinah dimasa Nabi saw.
Pembangunan MasjidNabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam membangun Masjid Nabawi pada bulan Raibul Awal di awal-awal hijarahnya ke Madinah.
Pada saat itu panjang masjid adalah 70 hasta dan lebarnya 60 hasta atau panjangnya 35 m dan lebar 30 m. Kala itu Masjid Nabawi sangat sederhana, kita akan sulit membayangkan keadaannya apabila melihat bangunannya yang megah saat ini.
Lantai masjid adalah tanah yang berbatu, atapnya pelepah kurma, dan terdapat tiga pintu, sementara sekarang sangat besar dan megah.
Area yang hendak dibangun Masjid Nabawi saat itu terdapat bangunan yang dimiliki oleh Bani Najjar. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam berkata kepada Bani Najjar, “Wahai Bani Najjar, berilah harga bangunan kalian ini?”
Orang-orang Bani Najjar menjawab, “Tidak, demi Allah. Kami tidak akan meminta harga untuk bangunan ini kecuali hanya kepada Allah.”
Bani Najjar dengan suka rela mewakafkan bangunan dan tanah mereka untuk pembangunan Masjid Nabawi dan mereka berharap pahala dari sisi Allah atas amalan mereka tersebut.
Anas bin Malik yang meriwayatkan hadits ini menuturkan, “Saat itu di area pembangunan terdapat kuburan orang-orang musyrik, puing-puing bangunan, dan pohon kurma. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam memerintahkan untuk memindahkan mayat di makam tersebut, meratakan puing-puing, dan menebang pohon kurma.”
Pada tahun 7 H, jumlah umat Islam semakin banyak, dan masjid menjadi penuh, Nabi pun mengambil kebijakan memperluas Masjid Nabawi.
Beliau tambahkan masing-masing 20 hasta untuk panjang dan lebar masjid. Utsman bin Affan adalah orang yang menanggung biaya pembebasan tanah untuk perluasan masjid saat itu. Peristiwa ini terjadi sepulangnya beliau dari Perang Khaibar.
Masjid Nabawi adalah masjid yang dibangun dengan landasan ketakwaan. Di antara keutamaan masjid ini adalah dilipatgandakannya pahala shalat di dalamnya. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda,
“Shalat di masjidku ini lebih utama dari 1000 kali shalat di masjid selainnya, kecuali Masjid al-Haram.” (HR. Bukhari dan Muslim)
Raudhah (Taman Surga)Di dunia ini banyak sekali taman buatan yang indah dan nyaman untuk sekedar melepas lelah dan bersantai dengan keluarga atau sahabat.
Bahkan tak jarang kita membuat taman sendiri di rumah atau bersenda gurau di taman. Nah perlu kita ketahui ada sebuah taman yang menakjubkan bagi kita umat Islam, sebuah taman (raudhah) yang Rasulullah SAW amat cintai.
Raudhah atau taman syurga terletak di dalam luar biasa indahnya Masjid Nabawi, terdapat tempat yang memiliki keutamaan lebih.
Tempat yang sangat mulia itu merupakan tempat Rasulullah SAW beribadah, memimpin sholat, menerima wahyu, teriring pula tentunya ibadah para sahabat nan sholeh.
Kini Raudhah berada didalam Masjid Nabawi, namun dahulu ‘Raudhah’ yang dalam bahasa Indonesia berarti taman, taman yang dimaksud adalah Taman Syurga atau Taman Nabi.
Dahulu ‘Raudhah Nabi’ ini adalah ruang diantara mimbar dan kamar Rasulullah di dalam masjid Nabawi. Sebagaimana Rasulullah bersabda:
“Antara mimbarku dan rumahku merupakan taman dari taman-taman syurga” (HR. Al Bukhari & Muslim)
Lokasi Raudhah merupakan bagian dari shaf laki-laki, dan hanya terbuka untuk perempuan di jam jam tertentu. Saat Dhuha dan setelah sholat dzuhur.
Karena Raudhah yang bersebelahan dengan makam Nabi Muhammad SAW didalam komplek Masjid Nabawi Madinah ini karena merupakan tempat yang mustajab untuk berdoa. Apapun doa yang dipanjatkan disana insya Allah akan dikabulkan.
