Ini Alasan Ustadz Somad Tidak Tertarik Sama Dunia Politik


Ustaz Abdul Somad mengatakan, dirinya tidak tertarik untuk terjun ke dunia politik. Ulama asal Riau itu menyebut ia hanya ingin menekuni dunia dakwah.
Saat berceramah di Masjid Al Ihsaniah, Kota Seberang, Jambi, Kamis (1/3), sambil bercanda Ustaz Somad menyebutkan, alasannya tak mau masuk dunia politik.
“Kenapa Ustaz Somad tak mau jadi calon gubernur. Tak yakin saya menang. Pemilihan jadi ketua kelas saja saya kalah,” kata Ustaz Somad disambut tertawa meriah ribuan jamaah di Masjid Al Ihsaniah.
Dalam kesempatan itu, Ustaz Somad bukan satu-satunya yang diundang sebagai penceramah. Ada juga seniornya saat masih kuliah di Universitas Al Azhar, Kairo Mesir, TGH M Zainul Majdi atau Tuan Guru Bajang. Yang sejak 2008 sampai sekarang menjadi Gubernur Nusa Tenggara Barat.
Ustaz Somad mengatakan, umat Islam harus mendukung orang-orang seperti TGB. Figur yang punya latar belakang ulama yang berani maju menjadi penguasa lewat jalur politik.
Umat Islam menurut peraih gelar S2 di Daar al-Hadits Al-Hassania Institute, Kerajaan Maroko itu harus bangga adanya pemimpin seperti TGB. Yaitu pemimpin yang juga penghafal Alquran. “TGB hafal 30 juz. Kalau Ustaz Somad hapal Juz 30,” ujar Ustaz Somad lagi sambil bercanda.
Ustaz Somad berharap ke depan, akan ada banyak lagi muncul figur-figur pemimpin yang berlatar belakang ulama dan santri. Karena hal itu akan mendorong kemajuan umat Islam.
Dosen Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim, Pekanbaru itu mencontohkan NTB yang dipimpin TGB telah menjelma sebagai provinsi yang Islami.
Ustaz Somad tak heran ada banyak bermunculan hafiz Alquran dari NTB karena pemimpinnya juga seorang hafiz Alquran. Di mana pemimpin yang hapal Alquran akan bekerja dan membangun negeri sesuai dengan ajaran-ajaran sesuai tuntunan Alquran dan hadis.
