Dari Nextshark, wanita dalam foto itu adalah seorang ibu tunggal 45 tahun bernama Guo Yinzhen.

Guo sudah bercerai dari suaminya beberapa tahun lalu.


Ia merawat anak laki-laki satu-satunya bernama Guo Zhenghan (3).

Ibu dan anak ini tinggal di sebuah desa di Datian, provinsi Fujian, Tiongkok.


Yinzhen dulunya seornag pekerja pabrik tapi kemudian kehilangan pekerjaannya setelah melahirkan Zhenghan.

Ibu dan anak ini kemudian dibantu oleh orang tua Yinzhen, yang bekerja sebagai pemetik daun teh.

Seperti yang dikabarkan Sina News, Zhenghan menderita hidrosefalus kongenital.


Ia dibawa ke rumah sakit karena infeksi.

Sayang, biaya rumah sakit lama-lama membengkak hingga keduanya tak punya pilihan lain selain meninggalkan rumah sakit.

Yinzhen membutuhkan dana sekitar 100 ribu yuan (Rp 218 juta).

Padahal, ia sudah memiliki hutang sebesar Rp102 juta yang telah digunakan untuk pengobatan anaknya.


Secara keseluruhan, keluarga ini telah menghabiskan sekitar 400 ribu yuan (Rp 875 juta) untuk pengobatan Zhenghan, sudah termasuk tiga kali operasi dan biaya lain.

Menurut What's on Weibo, pasien seperti Zhenghan tidak ditanggung pemerintah sehingga harus mencari cara sendiri agar sembuh.



Beruntung, saat foto yang diambil pada 1 Desember itu viral, ibu anak ini kemudian mendapat bantuan dari Xiaoxingxin Foundation.


Berkat yayasan tersebut, Zhenghan bisa kembali melakukan operasi yang diperlukan.

Sebagai follow up, yayasan itu mengumumkan bahwa infeksi pada kepala Zhenghan telah hilang dan perkembangan otaknya berjalan baik.
