Usianya baru 14 th., Remaja ini baru saja lulus SMP, namun telah hafal Al Quran. Cita-citanya demikian tinggi, menginginkan jadi Menteri Luar Negeri. Untuk meraih cita-citanya, Wirda terbang ke New York, Amerika Serikat, untuk meneruskan SMA-nya. Bukan sekedar sekolah, tetapi putri sulung Ustad Yusuf Mansur ini bisa jadi duta Quran di negeri Paman Sam itu.

Wirda Salamah Ulya meninggalkan Jakarta menuju New York, Senin jam 06. 50 WIB. Remaja imut-imut ini diantar segera oleh Ustad Yusuf Mansur bersamaan istrinya. " Doain ya, ini menginginkan boarding dahulu. Kelak transit di Narita terlebih dulu lanjut ke New York, " kata Yusuf Mansur waktu lakukan pembicaraan detikcom pagi tadi terlebih dulu meninggalkan bandara Soekarno-Hatta.

Di New York, Wirda bakal bersekolah di Al Mamoor, sekolah Mesir yang ada di New York. " Agar nyambung Quran-nya. Ada muahafidzah (guru tahfidz) disana. Kami miliki kemauan tak tentukan sekolah umum dengan bermacam pertimbangan. Namun ini sekolah bagus. Tingkat penerimaan di perguruan-perguruan tinggi di Amerika dari sekolah ini dapat tinggi, " kata UYM.

Keberangkatan Wirda ke New York ini atas hubungan kerja
dengan Nusantara Foundation serta Imam Shamsi Ali, seorang tokoh muslim Indonesia di New York. " Disana nanti kerja sama dengan Nusantara Foundation jadi Duta Quran. Saya melarang Wirda jika cuma sekolah SMU disana serta tak ada muatan dakwah. Di waktu libur nanti dia dapat keliling negara-negara sisi untuk mengajar tahfidz, " papar Yusuf.

Yusuf bercerita putrinya memang mempunyai hasrat sekolah diluar negeri sejak mulai di bangku SD. Waktu bersekolah di SMP, Wirda sempat juga bersekolah di Jordan. Tetapi, cuma 1/2 th. di Jordan, Wirda kembali ke ke Tanah Air. Wirda bercita-cita dapat kuliah di Hubungan Internasional Universitas George Washington, supaya mungkin saja Menlu. Namun, kenyataannya tekad bersekolah ke Amerika Wirda terealisasi lebih cepat waktu sekolah di SMU.

 " Semoga Wirda dapat dakwah sekalian sekolah disana. Serta karena SMU itu 4 th., semoga dia dapat pulang dengan membuahkan anak-anak hafidz serta hafidzah baru binaan Wirda selama di sana, " berharap ustad berusia 38 th. ini.

Nama Wirda telah terkenal didunia hafidz Quran. Dia sering terlihat di tv untuk membaca hafalan Quran. Dalam beberapa sesi, Wirda juga sering tampak bersamaan ayahnya untuk tilawah serta acara dakwah. Kekuatan bhs asingnya juga sangat baik.
