Dari Abu Hurairah, bahwa Rasulullah SAW pernah berjalan bersama dengannya (Abu Hurairah) Di tengah perjalanannya, Rasulullah mendengar seseorang yang tengah membaca surat pendek dari sekian banyak surat yang ada dalam Al Quran.
Ketika mendengar ayat-ayat dari surat tersebut, Rasulullah SAW pun berucap “Wajabat (Wajiblah).”

 Dengan penuh keheranan, Abu Hurairah pun bertanya kepada Rasulullah “Wahai Rasulullah, maksudnya wajib atas apakah?”

Rasulullah kemudian menjawabnya “Wajib bagi orang itu untuk masuk ke dalam surga”. Hal ini telah didapat dalam tafsir Al Azhar yang dikutip oleh HAMKA.

Apa yang telah dibaca orang tersebut sehingga Rasulullah SAW pun bersabda bahwa ia wajib untuk masuk kedalam surga?

Sesungguhnya ada beberapa keutamaan dari suatu surat dalam Al Quran, seperti surat Al Zalzalah yang disebut setengah dari Al Quran. Kemudian surat Al Kafirun yang merupakan seperempat dari Al Quran. Dan Untuk surat yang dibaca oleh orang tersebut, Rasulullah menyebutnya sebagai sepertiga dari Al Quran.

Ternyata surat dalam Al Quran tersebut adalah surat keseratus dua belas yang senantiasa Rasulullah amalkan bersama dengan surat Al Kafirun saat beliau melaksanakan shalat fajar setiap harinya. Surat tersebut bernama Al Ikhlas yang merupakan perlambang kemurnian tauhid dimana berisi tentang keesaan Allah yang tidak bisa dipersekutukan dengan yang lainnya. Di dalamnya juga dijelaskan bahwa Allah tidak memiliki anak dan tidak pula diperanakkan.

Di dalam tafsir Al Azhar dijelaskan pula bahwa Rasulullah suatu hari pernah mengutus pasukan patroli dari kalangan para sahabat ke berbagai daerah. Pemimpin kelompok tersebut ternyata selalu mengakhiri shalatnya dengan bacaan surat Al Ikhlas di rakaat kedua. Hal ini telah diriwayatkan oleh Aisyah binti Abu Bakar.

Karena seringnya sang pemimpin pasukan membacakan surat tersebut, maka setibanya di hadapan Rasulullah, para sahabat yang lain mengadukan hal tersebut. Sahabat yang mengadu menyampaikan alasan dari pemimpinnya bahwa dalam surat tersebut ada sifat Rabb yang Maha Penyayang dan ia sangat menyukai surat Al Ikhlas.

Mendengar hal itu, Rasulullah SAW pun berkata “Katakanlah kepadanya (pemimpin pasukan) bahwa Allah pun senang padanya.”

Sebagian dari kita tentu ada yang mengetahui bahwa surat yang cukup pendek ini memiliki banyak keutamaan. Di dalamnya terdapat puncak ketauhidan yang sebenarnya. Bahkan dalam suatu riwayat, surat Al Ikhlas juga merupakan surat yang berfungsi untuk penjagaan diri dan disunnahkan pula untuk membacanya bersama dengan surat Al Falaq dan An Naas sebelum tidur.

Selain itu jika surat Al Ikhlas dibacakan tiga kali setiap pagi dan sore, maka Rasulullah menjaminnya sebagai orang yang telah tercukupi.

Oleh karena itu mari kita amalkan surat yang pendek tersebut dengan mentadaburi isinya dan mengamalkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bahwa hanya Allah SWT tempat bergantung segala sesuatu dan tidak ada yang setara denganNya.
