DZIKIR adalah penentram jiwa, sumber kebaikan, mengundang pahala yang besar, pengusir setan, menghidupkan hati, penolak siksa Allah, ibadah paling mudah, dan tanaman surga.

“Dan Aku (Yahya bin Zakariya) memerintahkan kalian untuk banyak berdzikir kepada Allah. Permisalannya itu seperti seseorang yang dikejar-kejar musuh lalu ia mendatangi benteng yang kokoh dan berlindung di dalamnya. Demikianlah seorang hamba tidak dapat melindungi dirinya dari syeitan kecuali dengan dzikir kepada Allah.” (HR. Ahmad dan Tirmidzi).

4. Menghidupkan hati. 
“Dzikir bagi hati seperti air bagi ikan, lalu bagaimana keadaan ikan jika kehilangan air?’ (Ibnu Taimiyah).

5. Penolak siksa Allah. 
“Tidaklah seorang manusia mengamalkan satu amalan yang lebih menyelamatkan dirinya dari adzab Allah dari dzikrullah.” (HR Ahmad).

6. Ibadah paling mudah. 
“Dzikir adalah ibadah yang paling mudah namun paling agung dan utama, karena gerakan lisan adalah gerakan anggota tubuh yang paling ringan dan mudah...” (Ibnul Qayim).

7. Tanaman surga.
“Aku berjumpa dengan Ibrohim pada malam isra’ dan mi’roj, lalu ia berkata: “Wahai Muhammad, sampaikan salamku kepada umatmu dan beritahulah mereka bahwa syurga memiliki tanah yang terbaik dan air yang paling menyejukkan. Syurga itu dataran kosong (Qai’aan) dan tumbuhannya adalah (dzikir) Subhanallahi Wala ilaha illa Allah wallahu Akbar.” (HR. Tirmidzi).

Dzikir adalah amalan hati, amaliyah qolbiyah. Orang yang lisannya mengucapkan lafadz dzikir, seperti takbir, tahlil, tahmid, dan kalimah thayibah lainnya, belum bentu hatinya berdzikir. Sering antara lisan dan hati "tidak sejalan".

Maka, utamakan dzikir dalam hati, menghadirkan Allah dalam diri, bukan "teriak-teriak" dengan Asma Allah, namun hatinya entah ke mana.

Dzikir terbaik adalah dengan suara lembut, dalam hati, tidak keras-keras.
