Sesudah kesulitan ada kemudahan adalah hukum Allah SWT yang pasti berlaku. Kesulitan tidak akan selamanya ada, tapi akan berganti dengan kemudahan. Demikian pula sebaliknya. Karenanya, jika kita sedang didera masalah, la takhof wa la tahzan --jangan takut dan bersedih karena tiap masalah pasti ada solusi dan setelah kesulitan ada kemudahan.

"Karena sesung­guhnya sesudah kesulitan itu ada kemudahan. Sesungguhnya sesudah kesulitan itu ada kemudahan" (QS. Alam Nasyrah:5-6)

Tugas kita adalah ikhtiar (usaha), doa, dan tawakal (berserah diri pada Allah). Allah tak mungkin memberi beban yang melebihi kemampuan hamba-Nya.

"Allah tidak membebani seseorang kecuali sesuai dengan batas kemampuannya. Baginya ganjaran untuk apa yang diusahakannya, dan ia akan mendapat siksaan untuk apa yang diusahakannya. Dan mereka berkata, Ya Tuhan kami, janganlah Engkau menghukum kami jika kami lupa atau kami berbuat salah. Ya Tuhan kami, janganlah Engkau membebani kami tanggung jawab seperti Engkau telah bebankan atas orang-orang sebelum kami. Ya Tuhan kami janganlah Engkau membebani kami apa yang kami tidak kuat menanggungnya; dan ma’afkanlah kami dan ampunilah kami serta kasihanilah kami kerana Engkaulah Pelindung kami, maka tolonglah kami terhadap kaum kafir.” (QS. Al Baqarah:287).
Setiap Muslim yakin, Allah Ta’ala tidak akan selamanya memberi kesulitan karena ia pasti berlalu dan ditemukan kemudahan. Tugasnya “hanya” terus ikhtiar (berusaha), berdoa, lalu tawakkal atau menyerahkan sepenuhnya kepada Allah SWT. Ia yakin, Dia pati memberi yang terbaik karena hanya Dia yang paling tahu setiap kebutuhan hamba-Nya.

Ibnu Jarir meriwayatkan dari al-Hasan. Suatu hari Nabi Muhammad Saw keluar rumah dalam keadaan senang dan dalam keadaan tertawa beliau bersabda:

"Satu kesulitan itu tidak akan pernah mengalahkan dua kemudahan, satu ke­sulitan itu tidak akan pernah mengalahkan dua kemudahan, karena bersama kesulitan itu pasti terdapat kemudahan, sesungguhnya bersama kesulitan itu terdapat kemudahan.'"

Ibnu Duraid berkata: "Abu Hatim as-Sijistani mengumandangkan sya'ir untukku:

Jika hati telah menguasai keputusasaan
Dan sudah menjadi sempit oleh dada yang lapang.
Ia menginjak semua yang tidak disuka dan menjadi tenang,
Dan menancapkan kesulitan di beberapa tempat.
Dan untuk menyingkap mudharat, ia tidak melihat jalan
Dia mendatangimu dalam keadaan putus asa dari meminta bantuan
Yang diberikan oleh Yang Mahalembut lagi Maha Mengabulkan.
Dan setiap kejadian itu jika berakhir,
Maka akan membawa kepada kebahagiaan yang dekat.

Penya'ir lainnya mengungkapkan:
Tidak jarang musibah itu membuat sempit gerak pemuda,
dan pada sisi Allah jalan keluar diperoleh.
Lengkap sudah penderitaan. Dan ketika kepungannya mendominasi,
Maka terbukalah jalan, yang sebelumnya dia menduga musibah itu tiada akhir.

Maka, apa pun kesulitan atau masalah yang melanda, pasti berlalu, ada jalan keluar, berganti dengan kemudahan. Syaratnya, seperti disebutkan di atas: ikhtiar, doa, dan tawakal. Risalah Islam itu indah. Islam itu Mudah. Wallahu a’lam bish-shawabi.
