PACARAN adalah jalinan hubungan cinta-kasih atau hubungan asmara antara dua orang. Satu sama lain sang mencintai, menyukai, dan menyayangi. Pacaran biasanya merupakan awal untuk memasuki gerbang pernikahan. Tapi, bagaimana hukum pacaran dalam Islam?

Risalah Islam tidak mengenal istilah pacaran, jika yang dimaksud adalah pacaran seperti muda-mudi masa kini --jalan berduaan, berkhalwat, bahkan "lebih" dari itu --mengikuti hawa nafsu. Islam mengharamkan "model" pacaran berdasarkan ayat:

“Dan janganlah kamu mendekati zina karena sesungguhnya zina itu adalah faahisah (perbuatan yang keji) dan seburuk-buruk jalan (yang ditempuh oleh seseorang)” (QS. Al-Isra:32).

Pacaran dalam pengertian umum adalah pria-wanita belum menikah, saling cinta, sering berdua-duan tanpa muhrim, dan menyepi (khalwat), dan sebagainya. Pacaran demikian tergolong “mendekati zina”, dan jelas tidak boleh (haram) karena membuka pintu-pintu zina.

”Tidaklah diperkenankan bagi laki-laki dan perempuan untuk berkhalwat (berduaan), karena sesungguhnya ketiga dari mereka adalah syetan, kecuali adanya mahram”. (HR Ahmad dan Bukhari Muslim).

Konsep Ta'aruf

Dalam Islam, untuk memasuki gerbang pernikahan, hanya dikenal konsep ta’aruf (berkenalan), yakni mengenali sosok dan karakter calon pasangan, misalnya lewat keluarga atau teman dekatnya, juga melihat wajahnya ketika benar-benar hendak dipinang/dilamar.

Islam menetapkan etika pergaulan dalam Islam, di antaranya:

  1. Saling menjaga pandangan di antara laki-laki dan wanita
  2. Tidak boleh melihat aurat
  3. Tidak boleh memandang dengan nafsu dan tidak boleh melihat lawan jenis melebihi apa yang dibutuhkan. (An-Nur:30-31).
  4. Wanita wajib memakai pakaian yang sesuai dengan syari’at, yaitu pakaian yang menutupi seluruh tubuh selain wajah, telapak tangan dan kaki (An-Nur:31)
